The Bite On lures in this selection are softbaits with different tail shapes. Start with the movement you want to present: paddle tails, fork tails and curl tails bring a lure's profile to life in different ways.
What does the tail do on the retrieve?
Anchovy and Venom have paddle tails, offering a comparison between a smoother, slim fish profile and a ribbed body. The Pelagic Wizard uses a forked tail and side fins for another presentation. Crazy Fox instead has a wide curl tail. Switching models can therefore change much more than lure colour.
Consider the complete rig
Account for the softbait's own weight plus jighead, hook or stinger. Rig the body straight and choose a hook length that leaves the tail free to move. Watch the lure beside the bank or boat to see how your retrieve speed and rod movements affect it. The Shads, V-tail Softbaits and Curl Tails subcollections let you compare models and sizes within each tail type.
