Bite On curl-tail softbaits offer a different tail shape from a classic paddle-tail shad. Within this group, key differences are curl-tail width, body profile and the number of tails.
A wide curl tail or two tails?
Crazy Fox combines a fish-shaped head with a wide curl tail and comes in 10 to 18 cm. Rib Worm has a heavily ribbed body and a finer curl tail, in 10, 12 and 14 cm. Froggy adds two curled tails to a ribbed body. The 14 cm version weighs 16 g; the 18 cm version weighs 33 g. Account for that difference when choosing your rod and rig.
Check both tails after rigging
Keep the curl tail clear of the hook and attachment points, and check that it is not folded or wrapped around the rig. On Froggy, check both tails. The 12 cm Dragonfire adds a more compact option. Test the complete rig in water before treating length or colour as the sole explanation for its action.
