Skirted jigs are versatile lures for perch, zander and pike. They combine a weighted jig head with a hook and skirt, often fished with a softbait trailer for extra movement and profile.
How does a skirted jig work?
The skirt pulses during the retrieve and creates volume around the hook. Depending on the head shape, a skirted jig can crawl over the bottom, stand up, move through structure or be fished with short hops and pauses.
Combine with softbait trailers
Use shads, creature baits, worms or craw-style trailers to adapt the action. Lighter jigs are useful in shallow water or slow presentations, while heavier models help you reach depth, current or hard bottom structure.
