Are you fishing from the shore and want to cast a bit further? Then a slightly longer rod can be a solution. Also pay attention to your own height – a rod should be well proportioned to your body posture while fishing.
Regarding casting weight, it is important that the rod matches the lure you use. For light jerkbaits, a rod with a casting weight of 20 to 60 grams is sufficient. If you fish with heavier lures, choose a model up to 100 grams or more. Unsure? Then it is safer to go for a slightly heavier rod.
The right combination: reel, line, and leader

Also choose a braided line from 14/00 to 18/00. This has no stretch, so you maintain direct contact with your jerkbait and feel the bite faster.
A strong leader is a must. Use a steel leader with a breaking strength of at least 11 kg or a thick fluorocarbon leader of 80/00. This prevents a strong pike from biting through your line.
