Bite On V-tail softbaits focus on slim models without a large paddle tail. Rod movements and pauses shape much of the presentation. This calls for a different approach from a shad whose paddle works during a steady retrieve.
Ribbed, smooth or with extra fins?
The Arrow has a ribbed body and fine forked tail. It is offered in 115, 140 and 165 mm, weighing 4, 7 and 12 g respectively. The 15 cm Slug Impact has a slim profile for movements such as short, controlled twitches. The Pelagic Wizard combines an elongated shape with a forked tail and side fins. Compare body shape and weight as well as length.
Keep the tail clear of the rig
Match hook length to the body and check that the softbait sits straight after rigging. A crooked slim softbait can spin unintentionally. Test its movement beside the bank or boat and adjust the force of your twitches. The V-tail label alone does not define a fixed fishing depth or compulsory rigging technique.
