Back leads for discreet carp fishing
Back leads pin your main line close to the bottom after casting. This helps keep the line out of the water column and can reduce line bites, boat traffic issues and spooked fish on pressured waters.
How back leads work
A back lead is clipped onto the main line after the rig is positioned. It slides or sinks down to the bottom, keeping the line flatter between the rod tip and the rig.
When to use back leads
Back leads are useful on open, clear or busy waters, but they are not always suitable near mussel beds, sharp stones, heavy weed or close-in snags. Choose the weight based on current, depth and boat traffic.
Combine back leads with inline and running leads, fishing weights and feeders, carp fishing rods and carp hooks.
