Polenta is the ground corn kernel, and there are various types. The color of polenta depends on the type of corn used. I personally prefer a yellow to orange-like polenta. There is coarse polenta and fine polenta, the so-called Italian polenta and polenta flour. Coarse polenta is used in deep, flowing water. Fine (Italian) polenta is used in shallow, still, and slow-flowing water. This polenta is slightly sticky, will slightly weigh down the bait, and still easily fall apart. Polenta flour is very fine, powdery polenta. It clouds excellently and allows your bait to break apart easily. Ideal for fishing in ponds. Polenta is a basic ingredient in your bait.
