Rig Swivel

At Korda we always strive to improve products that came to the market if they did not meet our quality standards. It's not about selling just anything because others are doing it.

Initially, we had no intention at all of selling a micro swivel. This stopped because we suddenly understood that improvements are possible with this product as well, namely the coating. Our Micro Rig Swivel has a non-reflective coating, and that makes a HUGE difference.

The Micro rig Swivel is perfect for using the Claw Rig and the very well-known D Rig. They provide a much better hook hold than the well-known rings. These rings prevent the hook from turning completely, which significantly limits the effectiveness of your rig.

Now consider how the bait and the hook end up in the carp's mouth during retrieval. Then the fish stretches the leader, causing the hook point to start penetrating the mouth. It is precisely in this phase that it is extremely important for the hook to be able to rotate. However, a D rig with a ring will prevent this. As a result, the hook is too hindered during rotation, with all the consequences that entails.

That is why we tie a small hair to the end of the swivel. The hook bait is then pulled over the swivel so far that the bottom of the swivel is just still visible to the eye. It can now slide freely over the D rig or, of course, the shank of the hook. A very ingenious presentation.
