Longchuck Tapered Leaders Spinning Reel

These shock leaders are specially designed for long-distance fishing and help to achieve maximum distance without risking breaking the line. The leaders are perfect to use with the Long Chuck main line. There are three different combinations of the Long Chuck Tapered Leader to make it possible to match it with the diameter of the main line used. This will result in a neat connection knot and prevent 'frap-ups' during casting.These form when two different thicknesses of line are connected and during the cast a sudden change occurs in the spiraling of the line from the reel through the tip ring. Each leader is 10m long and consists of 8m 30lb/0.47mm breaking strength line to absorb the power of the cast and also to add extra abrasion resistance during the fight through the thickness. The remaining 2m are tapered and ensure a smooth connection to the thinner main line. Optionally, it is available in 0.27mm (10lb), 0.30mm (12lb), and 0.33 mm (15lb) diameter. The tapered leaders have the same properties as the Long Chuck line.Thus, the stretch percentage is ultra low to apply more pressure on the rod during the cast (heavy nylon normally has more stretch and thus hinders casting); low water absorption; lightweight for pulling power because the line is colorless (dye adds extra weight), which allows the line to stay in the air longer and a high pull strength to diameter ratio to reduce resistance. Each spool contains five leaders.
