PVA Bags

Using PVA bags is quite simple. Before filling the bag, prepare PVA string or tape for tying it. If you do not have either, cut half a centimetre from the end of the bag. Fill half the bag with crushed bait and the other half with crushed boilies and pellets. Then place the lead arrangement and the hook with your hookbait inside the bag. Finish by adding more bait. Once all the air has been removed, twist the bag several times and tie the top closed. Flatten protruding parts by moistening them. Take particular care not to use water when mixing your groundbait. Do not use water-based products to flavour boilies and pellets either, as these will dissolve the PVA. Use the slow-dissolving version in warm water or deep gravel pits to prevent the bag from breaking apart, which would make your feeding less accurate. According to our tests, the dissolution time in water at 15 degrees Celsius is: slow dissolving: 50 seconds. TIP: If you want to use your PVA over silty areas, you do not have to fill it loosely. You do not even need to squeeze out all the air; simply make sure it sinks slowly. Preparing your PVA bag in this way prevents it from becoming stuck in the silt.
