The X Zone softbaits in this collection differ mainly in body shape and moving parts. The paddle tail of the Pro Series Mini Swammer offers a different starting point from the subtle presentation of the Finesse Slammer or the tentacles of the X Tube. Start with the movement you want, then choose size and colour.
Imitating a baitfish or working along the bottom?
The 3.25-inch Finesse Slammer is intended for applications including dropshotting. The Mini Swammer has ribbed flanks and a paddle tail. The X Tube can be worked along the bottom on a tube jighead; its description also lists dropshot, Texas and Carolina rigs. Hook shape and position therefore differ between softbaits, even when their overall lengths are similar.
Rigging craws and trailers straight
The Muscle Back Finesse has ribbed claws and an alignment groove on the belly to help centre the hook. The Adrenaline Bug jr. offers another body shape with tentacles and claws and can serve as a jig trailer. After rigging, check that the body is straight and the moving parts remain free. Then choose the weight for your desired sink rate, not solely according to bait length.
