The Shakespeare swivels, clips and split rings range in this collection mainly consists of swivels with and without a snap. A swivel helps reduce line twist; a snap lets you change a component without retying that connection each time.
Trout Swivels with or without a snap
Trout Swivels and Trout Swivel With Snap are intended for rigs with rotating bait. Choose the snap version when you need an opening connection. The version without a snap provides a different connection, rather than the same opening function. Both are offered in packs of ten.
The same size code does not mean the same strength
The product information lists 46 lb for sizes 2 and 4 of the Safety Snap Swivel. For those sizes of the No Knot Snap Swivel, it lists 18 lb. Always compare the specific model's rating. With No Knot, also check the attachment mechanism rather than assuming it operates like a standard snap. After changing components, check that the connection is fully secured.
