With Matrix split shot, start with the range of sizes your float rigs need. The different packs are not necessarily different shotting systems: Soft Shot is available by individual size and in mixed-size dispensers.
A dispenser or a single-size refill?
The Soft Shot Dispenser combines sizes 8, 9, 10 and 11. This is useful for shotting different floats or adjusting the distribution along the line. If you mainly use one size, a separate pack is more targeted than buying the full assortment again.
Total weight is not the whole story
Several small shots distribute the same weight differently from one larger shot. This changes how the bait sinks and where the rig is weighted. Start with the float’s carrying capacity and check the shotting in water. Attach shot carefully and inspect the line after moving it; soft material still requires careful rig assembly.
