Twitchbaits are slim hard lures that come alive with short taps of the rod. They imitate an injured baitfish and are especially effective for perch, zander, asp and pike.
How to fish twitchbaits
Use short twitches, pauses and stop-and-go retrieves. The lure darts from side to side and then pauses like a vulnerable baitfish. In cold water, longer pauses can be very effective; in warmer water, a faster rhythm can trigger reaction strikes.
Floating, sinking and suspending models
Choose shallow-running or floating twitchbaits for the upper layers and weed edges. Suspending models hang in the water during pauses, while sinking twitchbaits help reach deeper fish.
