Lipless crankbaits for shallow water and power fishing

Lipless crankbaits are hard lures without a diving lip. They sink straight down and create strong vibration, flash and often a rattling sound, making them excellent search baits for perch, zander and pike.

Why lipless crankbaits work

Because they have no diving lip, you control the depth with sink time, retrieve speed and rod angle. They are effective over weed beds, along drop-offs, in shallow water and in coloured water where vibration helps predators locate the lure.

How to fish them

Use a steady retrieve in open water, rip them free from grass or let them touch bottom before lifting them with short hops. Natural colours work well in clear water; red, chartreuse and high-contrast colours stand out in murky water.

Compare with crankbaits, twitchbaits, fishing lures and predator fishing line.
