Clear water: its low visibility supports discreet presentations.
Leader material: connect braid to the lure with an abrasion-resistant section.
Around cover: thicker diameters provide additional protection from rocks and structure.
Finesse fishing: suitable material transmits subtle lure movement and bites.
Choose the right diameter
Fine diameters suit perch, trout and light zander fishing, while thicker material is useful for larger lures and abrasive venues. Fluorocarbon is not bite-proof for pike; use a suitable steel leader when required.
