Zander Lures

Lures for zander fishing

Zander fishing is all about depth control, finesse and the right lure action. Zander often hold close to the bottom and feed strongly in low light, so your lure choice should match the water, temperature and fishing technique.

Softbaits and shads for zander

Softbaits and slim shads are among the most effective zander lures. Paddle tails create vibration for active fish, while V-tail and subtle softbaits can be better in cold or clear water. Combine them with the right jig heads for precise bottom contact.

Jigging, dropshot and finesse rigs

Jigging is a classic zander technique because it keeps the lure close to the bottom. Dropshot rigs are useful when fish are passive or holding near structure. Ned rigs and Carolina-style presentations can also work when you need a slower, more controlled approach.

Complete your predator setup

Combine zander lures with dropshot weights, Ned rig jigs, predator leaders and traces and predator reels and baitcasters.
