Shot-On The Hook Rig

The Shot-on the Hook rig is a leader equipped with an extra weight on the hook. This causes the hook point to fall much faster and more aggressively, which means the hook sets more quickly and also better. Especially in waters where the carp are already familiar with the crack of the whip, the Shot-on the Hook Rig is a means to catch more fish.

Also, due to this extra little weight on the tip, a pop-up presentation can be offered in an entirely different way. The hook position can be much sharper here because of the Shot-on the hook bead. This rig is tied with Jelly Wire 25lb and features the exceptionally good Anti Eject hook with mounted Long Shank Aligner. On the hook bend, a Shot-on the hook bead is mounted. Naturally, this leader is also equipped with a Speed Swivel 8 in combination with the Anti Tangle Sleeve. This rig is a godsend for still waters!
