Nylon, braid or fluorocarbon?
Nylon offers stretch and forgiveness, making it useful for many all-round techniques. Braided line has almost no stretch and gives direct contact with your lure or feeder. Fluorocarbon is abrasion-resistant and nearly invisible underwater, which makes it popular for leaders and clear water.
Choose by target species and technique
Predator anglers often choose braid for lure control. Coarse and feeder anglers use fine nylon, braid or dedicated feeder lines depending on distance and bite registration. Carp anglers choose strong nylon, braid or fluorocarbon based on venue and presentation.
