Surface Spod

This ingenious design is yet another gem from the mind of Jon 'Shoes' Jones. With the Avid Surface Spod, anglers can deposit floating bait at distances never achieved before. No more trying to use a regular spod full of mixers and wobble it, causing unnecessary disturbance on the surface. We have created a specially built spod with a number of revolutionary features. The inner roll-a-ball is floating, while the nose is slightly weighted. This means that upon hitting the water, the nose points downward, allowing the ball to float along the arms of the spod and release the mixers.You get no wastage on the cast and it lands with a nice quiet plop, so surface fishing can now be reached at totally new distances. Some of the big catches that our anglers have made using this spod in combination with zigs fished over the depth are downright remarkable, and it is a tactic that we are certain will be well used during the summer months at numerous locations. You will never think about float fishing the same way again.
