The Sahara is whisper-quiet, runs superbly and if you prefer to drill fish through backwinds or other times when you want to be able to cast line quickly, there is the anti-reverse button to complement the great front slip. With a wide range of models available, the Sahara completely redefines this price segment and makes a lasting impression. The first thing you notice when using the Sahara is how smooth, quiet and deceptively powerful it is when turning, especially when fishing under pressure. This is due to a combination of HAGANE Gear, X-SHIP and Silent Drive. This technical trilogy is usually found on Shimano's more expensive reels and is an unexpected bonus for all Sahara owners. Use the reel on the lightest of rods and you will experience the balance of the G-Free body. Put the biggest 4000 or 5000 size on a heavy lure or feeder rod and you'll appreciate the extra power and directness of the 'screw-in' crank and the smooth throwing performance of the AR-C spool with Varispeed II oscillation. If you fish with ultra finesse, take a look at the 500 mini version or the slightly larger 1000 model. For light and medium lure fishing, float fishing and feeder fishing, the 2000, medium 2500 and 3000 are a joy to use. The 4000 is great for pike, barbel and mid-range feeder reel and predatory fish (XG version). The 5000 XG is a powerhouse that inspires confidence for similar fisheries. The choice is yours!
